Lead and Roses scarf

Pattern: Lace Ribbon scarf, by Veronik Avery
Yarn: Sundara sock yarn (100% superwash merino wool, 350 yards, 100 grams) colour Lenten Rose. One skein.
Needles: Webs' Valley Yarns bamboo US No. 4 (3.5 mm)
Cast on: 8 November 2008
Cast off: 18 November 2008
Via the stash? Sure is. I'm ashamed to say this is the first project I've actually knit with any of my Petals Collection yarn, but it was definitely worth the wait!
Dimensions: unwashed 17 x 111 cm, 25 x 138 cm blocked

Notes: cast-on with waste yarn which was then unpicked and both ends bound off with Stem Stitch Cast-Off (Montse Stanley's Knitter's Handbook, p. 90).

This scarf has single-handedly (stitchedly?) restored my knitting mojo. I loved knitting it, I love wearing it - I just plain love it. If I could knit this one all over again, I would make it one repeat narrower in order to make a longer scarf (I should have listened to all those Ravellers !) but I actually really like it this width. I imagine it will stretch lengthwise in the wearing, too; most of my scarves do. If I were to buy yarn specially for this pattern, I'd buy two skeins, or one with a bit more length per skein.

Happy, happy, happy. In spite of a leaden sky.

Lovely use of this Petals Collection yarn! Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get around to knitting up my sock club yarns.

Just gorgeous! Oh, the color... I'm thinking about knitting up some of my precious Petals collection yarn in scarves, too. Maybe the Haruha pattern?

Oh it's lovely! Perfect, in fact. Can't wait to see it in person - and its owner! Mine is lagging woefully behind.

What lovely flowers - I can see where you have been! I've not been along to covet the fabric and enjoy the creaky stairs for far too long now...
